All my experience has taught me that you can't introduce democracy by military means. It has to come from the people themselves.
The way we invaded Iraq will make the task of spreading democracy more difficult than it was before. Acting arbitrarily and unilaterally has undermined our credibility. This is something I am experiencing personally in the field.

ブッシュが再選してくれたほうが日本経済にはプラス、という説は、ソロスに言わせれば、近視眼的反応、ということになるかも。
